"Summertime" - Gerry Kreibich and Leisha Martin and Cream Teas at the Temple Hotel

We are very pleased to put together two great artists who will play for us on the August Bank Holiday Monday, see the flyer (attached). They will perform famous songs from the American South, such as “Summertime”.

In addition Mel will be putting on one of her wonderful cream teas. Eat as much as you like from her fare of cakes sandwiches and other delights! We will also have a Quiz from Mark Crowfoot; remember his amazing Christmas Quiz?

The event will start at 3pm and carry on until about 7pm on Monday 27th of August at the Temple Hotel, Matlock Bath. At £10 per person this is a really good value event. We will also raise some funds if we can make this a successful event.

Tickets can be bought from me (see below) or from Arkwright’s shop in Cromford, the Mining Museum or the Newsagents in Matlock Bath.

The Hazards of Printing Flyers for Events

I have had a real saga getting printing done for our next event. I started with our regular “on-line printers”, who are normally fantastic, but are currently unable to supply anyone without a VAT number (new EU regulations). So I found another….well all went well, I uploaded the artwork just like before and all seemed fine. Then I get an email saying that the size of the file is wrong it is A4 but I want printing on A5; never a problem with the other printer.

I stayed up until midnight getting the files altered to fit this requirement and sent them off in time. Another email; some fonts are missing! I phone them and the guy says that I can send the files as JPEGs, which is fine so I do that; also in time for printing by Friday.

Another email, the JPEGs are the wrong size! I gave up at that point and am now on my third printer!
