We have just finished the first day of clearing the Pavilion of all the rubbish that was left behind by the Nightclub. There are sacks of paper plastic and piles of wood. See the photo to get a feeling of what the ballroom looks like with the light shining in! You can also see the enormous amount to work that remains to be done!
What has been revealed is the old stage architrave; it is almost in-tact. I have cut out a piece of the picture to show what is visible and compared it with an original Edwardian picture that we have. It shows the right hand side of the stage and you can just see the "pillars" that are clearly visible in the old photo.
More work will be done to reveal the stage, so there will be more news tomorrow.
